Pheromones can work wonders when used in combination with a well-designed behaviour modification plan.
However, when used alone they might have limited affects for your pet.
If your cat is urinating in the house or your dog is scared of noises, pheromones can help to make the environment feel more secure, however they do not help to treat the underlying feeling of the anxiety, fear or stress
Therefore, it is like making spiders smell nice, to make your fear reduce! It is unlikely to have that affect!
However, if you complete a desensitization and conditioning plan to view that spiders are not that bad and can be something positive, then the extra nice smell can make the spiders even more appealing to have around. Therefore, an added bonus, to the situation.
So, pheromones can help provide that extra help when changing associations for our pets, but with the help of important behavioural support alongside!
